Job Overview

Rome Design Agency is seeking a Business Developer to expand our client base and sales network in Italy and internationally.

You are a relationship-driven sales professional, cultural connector, or fashion/design insider with an established network and the ability to open doors. You are comfortable representing high-level creative services: branding, design, visual identity, and cultural projects; and understand how to position creative value, not just sell deliverables. 

This role is best suited to candidates experienced in selling creative or professional services, not transactional retail products.

In addition to agency services, the studio also develops and distributes luxury silk scarves and art objects under the brands Clù and Studio ClaudiaPalmira, which may represent complementary sales opportunities depending on the market.

Scope of Work

  • Develop new business opportunities for design and branding services (primary focus)

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with clients, institutions, brands, and partners

  • Generate and qualify leads in Italy and international markets

  • Guide prospects through the sales process in collaboration with the creative director

  • Identify cross-opportunities between agency services and product lines where relevant

Compensation

  • Commission-based (attractive percentages, discussed based on experience and network)
  • Flexible collaboration: freelance / consultant model
  • High potential for growth as brands and markets expand 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage sales opportunities for our design services
  • Develop and manage sales opportunities for scarves and art-based collections
  • Build relationships with clientele, galleries, and select retailers
  • Identify new markets, partnerships, and distribution channels
  • Represent the brands with professionalism and strong aesthetic sensitivity
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and follow up on sales performance

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English
  • Proven experience in sales or business development (fashion, accessories, art, or design is a strong plus)
  • Strong network in the fashion, retail, or creative industries
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, independent, and results-driven
  • Based in Rome or willing to work closely with the Rome-based team
  • Able to close deals, generate leads and follow-up on opportunities
